Case Study: A UK Government Department responsible for managing circa 3K assets across a globally dispersed customer base
Improving Asset and Data Management
The Challenge
The client managed a diverse portfolio of assets across a large and globally dispersed customer base that each have differing requirements and management systems. This complexity created an environment where there was no understanding of the overall number of assets across the customer base and lacked a formalised asset management process. The study was tasked with identifying initiatives to improve availability, efficiency and safety through more effective data management.

The Squarcle Solution
We identified and engaged stakeholders across the client business to understand the problem and identify the ‘As-Is’ processes and systems environment
We mapped the data and systems landscape to identify handshake points and process flows, and gathered extensive data from both the client and its customer base. Root cause analysis was conducted to pinpoint process and data gaps and uncover efficiency opportunities. We then designed ‘to-be’ process maps and use cases aligned to industry Enterprise Asset Management models, and trained the client on the ISO 55000 Asset Management standards and how best to achieve compliance.
The Results
Squarcle uncovered operational efficiency improvements that enhanced availability and visibility, and produced a bespoke roadmap guiding the client toward full alignment with the ISO 55000 Asset Management framework.
